Free Spanish Lessons – The Differrence Between Free and Cheap
Unfortunately, in the online world, the word “free” sometimes means “cheap”, too. That may sound like a bit of an oxymoron but it rings true in my book.
According to dictionary.com, “free” means provided without, or not subject to, a charge or payment. The same dictionary defines “cheap” as of little account; of small value; mean; shoddy.
These two definitions accurately represent my understanding of these terms when it comes to free online Spanish lessons. Some of the free Spanish lessons you encounter online are of little or no value, but, on the other hand they’re free so what’s to complain about? In some cases they’re merely designed to entice you to make a purchase with little concern for the real value of the content.
In my opinion, this is where Visual Link differs. When I was looking for some less-expensive alternatives to Rosetta Stone, I was searching for a program that, in my view, offered a similar experience at a fraction of the cost. I don’t quite remember how I came across the Visual Link Spanish course, but, when I did, I was actually impressed by the fact that they offered free online Spanish lessons that come directly from the real course. These lessons weren’t just some bait-and-switch trick, but they added real value to me as I was able to get a genuine taste of what the full-blown course was like. So, while these were free online Spanish lessons, they were far from cheap.
The next thing I did was sign up for their free Spanish newsletter because I wanted to find out more about the program. At one point Visual Link offered a pretty good discount, so I jumped on it and I haven’t regretted it since. I started with the free online Spanish lessons and I’ve now owned the Visual Link Spanish course for two years now. I still think it’s one of the best.
Since this blog is fairly new, I realize some people may not read this post until months from now. But if you have any questions about my experience with Visual Link Spanish, then feel free to leave them in the form of a comment, and I’ll respond as soon as I can.
